Rodenator products control targeted burrowing pest animals in a humane and effective process where they live. They have proven to effectively control the following pest animals: voles, moles, gophers, ground squirrels, prairie dogs, rabbits, armadillos, marmots (rock chucks, ground hogs, wood chucks), badgers, foxes, coyotes, or any other pest animal that lives within a earthen tunnel system.
All three Rodenator models function in the same manner to terminate the life of the targeted pest animal. The product is a single unit that both injects and ignites a mixture of oxygen and propane, thus causing the gasses to rapidly expand producing a concussive force that kills the pest.
The design of the Rodenator has been researched and tested by experts in all facets of mechanical, electrical and gas-flow design, as well as by those who use our products day-to-day in the rodent pest control field. It is ergonomically and aesthetically pleasing as the machined and anodized aluminum, the polished stainless steel pipes, the weight/balance ratio, and sturdy construction give Rodenator the high-tech appearance that should be associated with a professional device that consistently accomplishes its intended task. Some home-made devices do not both deliver and ignite the gas from a single unit.
Our years of experience and attention to gas science have enabled us to have a one-piece system for ease of use and outstanding results. Home-made devices are fine for making a loud noise, but to get results, use a Rodenator brand product.
The Rodenator is a U.S. made product line by Meyer Industries. The production facility is located in the small town of Emmett, Idaho. This rural community, just outside the capital Boise, is rich in history and represents a small “western town” in the Payette River region of Southwestern Idaho. With over 10 years of experience, we have the know-how to provide a high quality, effective solution to your burrowing pest problems.
The Rodenator started just like many other products. There was an obvious problem, but no obvious solution. Ed Meyer was harvesting alfalfa sprouts on his family farm after college, and was getting frustrated with the gopher problems they were having on the farm. To get rid of the gophers and other burrowing animals that were tearing up the family fields, he tried blowing up the tunnels the animals made. Unfortunately for Ed, the experiment landed him in the hospital. But it also sparked an idea that he went on to develop into a thriving business.
“I was lying in bed, and I just kept thinking of ways I could get rid of those gophers safely. That’s when I came up with the Rodenator.” The Rodenator injects a calibrated mixture of propane and oxygen into the ground and ignites the mixture to create a concussive force that collapses the rodent tunnels and gets rid of the animals within. The machine quickly gets rid of rodents and their tunnels, and it does so in a safe manner. When Meyer first brought the product to the World Ag Expo in Tulare, California, it was a big hit.
“Farmers really like it because they get very frustrated by something coming into their fields and taking money away from them; it’s their field, it’s their baby, so they get really frustrated, and they really like that they can now get rid of those rodents.”
People often assume the product is cruel to animals. Contrary to trapping and baiting, the Rodenator delivers an instant death, ranking it among the most humane ways to eradicate rodents. Trapped animals aren’t always killed instantly, and a child or a pet have been reported to be caught into traps. But the Rodenator takes out burrowing pests, targeting only the rodents. Even worms and grubs are not affected. In the last ten years, many research projects have been conducted, and, time and again, it’s been shown that the Rodenator is a humane and effective solution. It is environmentally friendly, it is quick, and it is humane.
